The hood and ventilation unit are sold separately. We offer a wide variety of ventilation at each hood size, which will automatically populate based on the size you select. We suggest a hood height of 30” – 36” from the cooktop, however, some ventilation systems allow for lower than 30. Please review your local building code prior to making your selections.






Molding


Each hood dimension is increased in width by the selected trim. Please be sure to account for additional width in measuring the available space.


“If “Removed” or “Remove Side Trim” is selected, we will ship pre-cut trim to be installed during installation. Due to the two-piece construction of the hood, trim is necessary to cover seams where exposed.


Crown molding is used to reach the ceiling after installation. Without molding at the top of the hood, there will be a gap between the ceiling and the hood upon completion of the installation. Our crown molding is 3” in width and is installed to cover the gap. If installed in our facility, there will remain a gap between the crown molding and the ceiling.

Size Modifications


Depth can be increased to fit a variety of insert and liner options not offered by Hoodsly. When selecting an increased depth, it is highly recommended that you select a solid bottom to allow the liner to be fit into place during installation. Dimensions mentioned above are the inside opening depth of the hood, the width remains unchanged.

For 8’ ceilings, 30” hood height is recommended, for 9’ ceilings, 36” – 42” hood height is recommended, for 10’ ceilings, 48” hood height is recommended. Please consult your local residential housing code requirements prior to purchasing.

Solid Bottom?

When purchasing a range hood insert / blower from another source other than wholesalewoodhoods.com you may need a solid bottom. Solid bottoms are necessary when the ventilation system used does not match the hood dimensions. The solid bottom will need to be cut out to fit the ventilation system during installation. If a finish is selected, the solid bottom will be finished to match the hood color.


Our normal lead time is approximately 20-24 business days. With rush manufacturing we will build your hood in 15 business days.

There are many unique features of our corbel range hoods.  Please review this description in its entirety before completing your purchase. 
  • The overall hood width must exceed your cooktop by a minimum of 6″.  The corbel cannot be over any portion of the cooking surface.  You must confirm local code requirements before purchasing a hood with corbels, in some cases, there is an additional clearance that is required for spacing around the cooking surface.
  • Because of the minimum space requirement, we do not offer the corbel hood in a 30″ width.
  • The corbels will arrive detached from the hood and will require installation on-site.  The corbels come pre-notched to work seamlessly with the spacing on our hood.
  • Corbel hoods require a solid bottom, which is automatically included on the order.  The opening for ventilation will need to be cut to fit during installation.

Our hoods are made from cabinet grade plywood with a white maple veneer and the height is trimmable by up to 6″ to allow for the perfect custom height.  The stainless strapping is a thin layer overlaying the wood trim.

Hood liners and blowers are sold separately and in many cases will ship separately from the wood hood.

IMPORTANT STAIN INFORMATION: Wholesale Wood Hoods is not responsible for improper staining or painting techniques used to finish a raw hood. We strongly suggest spraying a professional grade, pre-catalyzed lacquer, from brands such as Gemini, Mohawk, ML Campbell, and Acroma Pro. Wiping Stains, such as Minwax, are not recommended and we highly suggest using a professional product and method. Wiping stains can cause inconsistent staining during the application of the stain. Wood filler, pin nails, knots, mineralization, and multi-dimensional graining are commonly used in our build methods and are not considered defects.

Hood liners and blowers are sold separately and in many cases will ship separately from the wood hood.
